This world needs more Red Tent spaces that are held with integrity, compassion, and love. Now more than ever, we need to remember our connection through our shared humanity.

The Red Tent focalizes the experience of menstruation, and all facets of the womb continuum. These experiences are part of what makes us truly human.

Our humanity is worth remembering, worth worshipping.

I have been guiding people in holding Red Tent Circles for the last 5 years, and now I am excited to offer this online training in a group container for the first time. I have expanded and improved the curriculum, brought in amazing guest teachers, and crafted a course that is practical, accessible, and grounded.

This is an intimate and immersive training into Red Tent Circle Facilitation.

This is a container for those ready to embody their innate leadership capabilities and are willing to do the work to show up with integrity, strength, and compassion.

What is the Red Tent?

The Red Tent is a place where we come to be our raw, honest selves. A place where all of us is welcome. A place that aims to be free of judgement and expectation.

The Red Tent is a place to express emotions, a place to celebrate, a place to grieve, a place to be witnessed, and a place to deeply witness others in their truth and vulnerability.

The Red Tent is a place to be slow, a place to rest, a place to nourish.

The Red Tent is a place to process the wildness of the world, a place to transmute and release what no longer serves, a place to dream of a greater future, a place to plant seeds of plenty and trust.

The Red Tent is many things, to many people; that's part of what makes it so special. The Red Tent need not look any particular way, or practice any particular customs necessarily.

The Red Tent is a modern revisioning of an ancient practice often known as the menstrual tent. These spaces existed cross-culturally, with the purpose of housing people whilst they menstruate. This gathering of bleeding people is thought to have been the first ceremony that any humans ever took part in. When we gather in the modern Red Tent, we bow in respect to our ancestors who have come before us, laying the foundation of Sacred Menstruation and the Red Tent.

For me, the Red Tent was and is my salvation, my homecoming, my safe space, and my sanctuary. It was the first place that invited me to travel deep into my body wisdom, cyclical nature, and menstrual cycle in a healthy and empowering way.

I want all people to be able to experience the nourishment and healing that can be experienced through the Red Tent. This is what passionately drives my work.

The course is offered over 3 Moons, with each Moon focused on a different aspect of  Red Tent Circle Facilitation.

What People Are Saying

Laura (in her Red Tent Facilitation) holds a deep presence as a sacred witness and intuitive guide for incredible transformation. Her commitment to radical change of the paradigm is brought into the containers she hosts, and because of this, I left the training with unshakable devotion in service to my dharma as priestess.

Allie McFee, Women's Health Educator,

Laura Carmody has been for me, an abundant and magical source of menstrual knowledge, womb healing, and circle facilitation. There are few I would trust as much as she to help in my ever unfolding journey into healing the Feminine... Womb work with Laura was (and still is) some of the most healing and mystical work I've done in my life.

Miracle Morningstar, Yin Yoga Instructor + Red Tent Facilitator

Your Facilitator: Laura Carmody

Laura Carmody (she/her) is a menstrual health and empowerment educator, and the founder of Priestessing the Paradigm Shift. She loves to support people as they cultivate deep and meaningful relationships with their bodies and cycles. Laura trains groups and individuals in Red Tent Facilitation, and brings practical Red Tent bleeding spaces to festivals and gatherings.

Laura's approach to sacred menstruation recognizes the systemic inequities that have lead to period poverty, inaccessibility of menstrual necessities, and global menstrual taboos. She believes that all menstruators deserve to bleed with dignity, with access to menstrual education and care, and with clean water. She is devoted to playing her part in stewarding a world where menstruation is truly respected.

Frequently asked questions
